The MRE Journalism Contest is an annual competition for military news journalists including broadcasters, correspondents, reporters, photographers, podcasters, and independent media professionals.

Awards for journalism at its best
The 2026 MRE Journalism Contest honors this year include the Joseph L. Galloway Award for Distinguished Journalism with a $1,000 prize and the James Crawley Award with a $500 prize, plus many more awards highlighting the professional recognition journalists deserve.
